In the statement, the patron of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club (NFSC) advised Muslims to always imbibe the spirit of sacrifice for the development of the nation, especially at this very critical juncture of our nationhood journey. Added to sacrifice is also, submission to the will of the Almighty Allah, as that was part of why Prophet Ibraheem (Alahi salat wá Salam) enjoy His mercy, part of what brought about this season, Ejidike added.
He equally admonished Muslims to, always, endeavour to be "promise keepers", explaining that, "it was as a result of promise-keeping that, God gave Prophet Ibraheem (Alahi salat wá salam) the grace to slaughter a ram, in place of his son, the benefit of which we enjoy today."
The Anambra-born Sports philanthropist also used the opportunity of the occasion, to urge Muslims, and Nigerians at large, to remember the 22 athletes and officials, from Kano State, who lost their lives in ghastly auto accident, when the bus in which they traveled to and from the just concluded National Sports Festival, tagged "Gateway 2024, fell off a bridge, about 40 kilometers to their destination. Ejidike said, "as Nigerians pray for the repose of their souls, governments should not also forget about the family they left behind, in prayer and material support.
He prays that, "may the Almighty Allah, accept every Muslim's sacrifices as acts of Ibadah."
